Re: Your 2041 BBA Media Guide!

Great stuff again guys!

You could definitely be right that we finally fall out of the playoffs this year, last year was close.

I'd pick Kevin Kerr as my personal sleeper. He reminds me a lot of Jimmy Brown, who had some nice seasons for us as a platoon player.

Re: Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Lawrence Columbus LaLoosh

Stinks how some guys fall off a cliff. At 30 he's dominant, 31/32 he's still a very good pitcher, at 33 he's average and he's out of the BBA before he's 35.

Re: Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Mario Soriano

Pretty amazing that he won only 1 Zimmer and was a +91 ZR player in CF. Even in his late 30s, he was still a solid defender.

I'm not a big fan of accumulators normally, but I have to say, his longevity was impressive.

Re: Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Valeri Kharlamov

Valeri was a monster in his early-mid 20s, and I will probably end up voting for him, but I did pass on him this year. Hot take: Once he turned 26, outside a couple outlier seasons in , Valeri was an average 2B. And he hung on for years on name value alone (0.7 WAR per year and sub 90 OPS+ from 2035...

Re: Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Norris Rutledge

At his peak, he was an absolute stud and he stuffed the box score. His defense was awful, which always hurt his WAR, but with Jacksonville he was a .300/.370/.560 hitter with 50+ SB speed. His steep dropoff after age 31 means he's basically Neil McKinney , but I'm horribly biased and will vote for h...

Good: sign a couple 2b to try and replace Encarnacion.
Bad: start 2041 in a 3 game hole

EDIT: Nevermind, that was for the Mann pick the year before.

Wait, the spreadsheet says I don't get a pick this year for my unsigned S1 comp pick, but New Orleans does get a pick for their unsigned S1 comp pick?

Re: Your Random BBA Graph of the week - 2041.1

10th in payroll, 8th in wins, 12th in cost per win. Not too bad. If we can finish inside the top 10 in wins and around the top 10 in cost/win, that is how we stay in contention year-on-year.

Re: 2040, Award Voting Chatter

Soooo, Zuniga tops French in nearly every single offensive category, yet French has TWICE the first place votes Zuniga does?! Uh, whaat? Both had a .410 OBP, Zuniga winds up with 104 extra base hits, and smashes French in SLG, OPS, wOBA, and wRC+. Counting stats more your thing? Well, Zuniga had 200...

Re: For those who had issues exporting, there is a file up as of a few hours ago.

Wait. So if I downloaded and exported last night, I need to download and export again? I'm not going to be able to do that for another hour or more. I guess just auto my FPL if that is the case. I don't want to hold up the playoff sim, and I don't particularly want to set up the FPL again.

We're dancing, that's all that matters.

Zuniga with a historic season. Best OPS since Moreno's amazing season, and highest SLG in nearly 4 decades!

Jacksonville to miss sim

We're not going to be home from visiting family until later than first thought, I won't be home until Sunday night and don't have my laptop.

How many times has 90 wins not made the playoffs? 89 wins, 1.5 games to the good with 4 games to play.

3-3 sim is fine. I don't play a team with a winning record teh rest of the way.
Wow. this is quite the battle! Too bad we dont play each other again.
J'ville 2 games up on Calgary, 2 games back of the division. Could go any way for the three of us.

Re: Fun Table of the Day: Attendence Neep

I've always wondered if the mere act of raising prices at all made a difference in things like fan interest. Pretty sure ticket price changes affect Fan Loyalty. And how about the reigning champs, returning every player of significance, in the playoff race yet again, and we are about average Fan In...

End Archibooty's ridiculous hit streak; Noboru hits #400; Zuniga hits #50 this year (4th 'Cane to do so, something Rutledge, Barr, Wayne, Martinez, nor Hahn accomplished); go 4-2 and gain ground overall on the division lead. 4 teams, within 2 games (plus Rockville just 1.5 games up on that) for the ...

Re: Your Random BBA Graph of the week #7!

Every one of the original 24 franchises has had at least one season where they had the worst record in the league. Phoenix is the longest running franchise that has never bottomed out. Dating back to 2006, 10 different teams have finished on top twice, only Las Vegas has finished with the best recor...

Top to bottom, the Frontier is better than the Atlantic. But I think the top 4 in the two divisions are pretty much a toss-up. So you're sayin' the bottom of the Frontier is what's making us superior? ;) I couldn't quite make out what you said there. The glare from all these Landis Trophies Aaron a...
