It's probably Sammy or Lowry. I don't think Parreno is in their zip code.

Re: 2058-59 Free Agency: Who Gets the Biggest Deal Among the "Olds"?
Considered Wullenweber and Smith, but I figure Wullenweber is too borderlinish, and Smith is a corner and older. Fountain is still only 37, so he's got more room to work with.

2059 – Team Options (Team Released Player)
So we come to the last of this little series of missives, the one in which we discuss players for whom the axe fell, and whom their teams cut them to the wind. Theoretically these are players who GMs thought were over-paid, or at least no longer in their team’s plan going forward. By definition thes...

Re: Galaxy Gas 2059.05 – Arbitration Results Revealed
Hard to get too upset at paying Hines $6.9M, though he's been on again, off again for awhile and seems to be to an "off" again year.

2059 – Team Options (Team Retained Player)
There were a grand total of 29 cases of a BBA team executing their team options on players. In general the theory behind these is that the GM thinks the player has value greater than (or at least equal to) the player’s existing contract. Theoretically this goes directly to on-field performance, but ...

2059 – Options (Mutual Options)
While there is no such thing as a Mutual Option in OOTP, entering the off-season three players carried contracts with what I will always call "mutual options." Meaning the contract called for both a player opt-out and a team option. I find these interesting because in the right place it gives flexib...

We're in that era, yes. But we'll see what happens now. It hasn't always been that way.

Re: 2059 – Options (Opt-outs and True Options – Player Leaves)
First thing I’ll say is while those four guys who opted out and then re-signed got more guaranteed money out of their new deal they all had player options on their original contracts that gave them a lot more flexibility. I’d argue every player except Clayton hurt themselves by opting out. I agree ...

2059 – Options (Opt-outs and True Options – Player Leaves)
Personally, I find players who chose to opt out of contracts to be the most interesting when it comes to assessing how good or bad the game is at making these decisions. That’s because the assessment hinges on both the decision to leave, and then how much the player asks for. This log is probably go...

2059 – Options (Opt-outs and True Options – Player Stays)
I’ve chosen this gathering because whether the situation is one of an opt-out or a player option at the back end of the contract, it’s a situation that leaves all the power in the hands of the player. And in this case, every one of these players had an option to stay, and decided to enact it (I’ll d...

2059 – Options (Vesting)
I figured that with the pre-season happening in v25, it was time to focus on how the game is processing options. By this, I mean player options (both opt-ins and true options). So I started gathering up some data. Then I figured that before laying down player option data I should be a bit more compr...

Danny Leach Contract (Retention?)
Rockville traded Danny Leach to Boise last year, and retained 50%. Leach had a TO for this year, that Boise executed. This means Boise should be paying the entire amount of his contract. However, it appears that the game has Rockville still paying 50%. Can this be corrected?
