You really make your assistant GM work. After my recent experiences, I keep Mr. Kelly locked in his office.

What does it say about Chicago that it got put in the slums of the MLB and STILL can't really win?

2059.06 Nine Avoid Arbitration with Colenutt, Vannatta
Nine Avoid Arbitration with Colenutt, Vannatta by Valerie Davies for the Yellow Springs World As per GM Rob McMonigal's usual practice, the Nine avoided arbitration with infielder Tristan Colenutt and newly acquired pitcher Ty Vannatta , signing both before the hearings. https://statspl.us/brewster...

OFF TOPIC: Graphics Help
Hi all, I am absolutely terrible at graphics. If anyone would be able to help with the following (in order of need), I'd appreciate it. 1) A banner of some kind to use for the Yellow Springs Journal. They're a scandal rag, Kinda akin to the New York Post. Old timey look might work. 2) A banner of so...

Re: Which Title Would you Want?
The Pirates' problem isn't cash, it's that they have zero idea how to develop players. I've been watching talented but troubled players succeed outside of Pittsburgh for almost 40 years now. It's not a new problem. The financial system doesn't help, but that's not why they're losers.

Yeah, I don't get why you can't tell it what position to pick to work on. I hope they fix that in 26, probably not something a patch can do.

Re: 2058-59 Free Agency: Who Gets the Biggest Deal Among the "Olds"?
Considered Wullenweber and Smith, but I figure Wullenweber is too borderlinish, and Smith is a corner and older. Fountain is still only 37, so he's got more room to work with. When in doubt (I was between those as well), go with the pitcher. Good pitchers always get paid. And so do mediocre ones ha...

Re: How Are You Feeling Going Into Free Agency?
I need to use FA to plug some holes and it's entirely possible I'll completely mis-fire when doing so. We shall see!

I think Sammy gets more than the 14 million a year he's asking for. Folks are going to overpay for any good SS on the market.

Re: How Are You Feeling Going Into Free Agency?
As an older person, I hope I can be forgiven for saying this, but I can't wait until all the 38-year-old free agents retire already. Between them and pitchers with the Fragile tag, I am most likely going to limit my free-agent bids to a guy who might contribute on the fringe. Or, I'll sign Kazantzi...

Re: 2059 – Team Options (Team Retained Player)
Happy to share my thoughts on Perez: 1) He can, barring injury, still play. 2) At 8 million he's similar to a comparable FA 3) with 2 million buy out, if I sign his replacement for anything over 6 million, I was out money on a relatively tight budget. That said, I almost released him anyway. Hopkins...

2058-59 Free Agency: Which of the Prime Time Players Gets the Biggest Deal?
Now for the fun one: Of the players still in their "prime" as it were (so basically the 30ish folks), who will get the biggest deal in terms of total value?
