Slugger Shavings 2063.6 - What's your clearance, Clarence?

On July 9, 2063, a cheer erupted on the streets of Louisville. Well, actually it was just at the Church of Religious Consciousness. The team traded for a player that could one day pilot the team to glory, as long as he doesn't have fish for dinner. That player, of course, is Clarence 'The Captain' O...

Slugger Shavings 2063.5 - It's Mr. Jackson if you're nasty

Slugger's left-fielder Jose Jackson was on a mission in 2063. The first overall pick in the 2061 draft had a solid rookie season in 2062, but he felt he could do more. "I honestly wasn't satisfied hitting just .288 and 25 homers last year. I wanted to win Newcomer-of-the-Year. Hell, I wanted to be M...

Slugger Shavings 2063.4 - Middle Infield Refresh

Compared to the big money free agent pitchers acquired last off-season, the acquisition via trade of 2B Senzo Sato and SS Jose Villa flew under the radar. The Sluggers had thought they plugged a gaping defensive hole up the middle of the infield, with hopefully some help at the plate if the stars al...

Slugger Shavings 2063.3 - Nystrom is team's best rookie

"What a year," said a bewildered Ricardo Nystrom . "I didn't expect to have to be in the spotlight so much given the veterans on this pitching staff, but I am thankful I was able to show the fans and team that my getting picked 8th overall back in 2059 was worth it." Worth it indeed. After taking a ...

I think this is the second time that I have replied on this forum with a "WTF Aaron?" Can you please calm down? There is no need to have that attitude regardless of whether you are right or wrong.

Re: Illegal Extension

I wonder if OOTP will ever give us the ability to have a different max extension length for players with less than 5 years (or whatever cutoff we want) like it currently allows us to set the max length of extensions generally. That would be awesome and help to avoid pistol duels between GMs.

In a shocking development, Jon Brown might be dealt this off-season if someone is willing to benefit from his certain rebound next year.

Caleca nominee. I had no idea Ploughman was traded even the first time.

When he returns, he will be the best pitcher in the league. The game has just been messing with you.

Funny how Brown and Akers, my two big FAs, are basically identical.

Re: 2063 - SP Ranking (Game Score Metric)

I think Akers and Brown will improve. I am glad I didn't go for Kawano instead in the off-season. Poor Ploughman, he must be starting to get homesick.

Feel free to force Akers to become a Kernel again. There must be something your Head Legal Honcho can do.

Re: Analysis of the First Round of the 2063 BBA Amateur Draft

Great job! This draft flummoxed me. Last year, I chose 2B Roger Watts with the first pick instead of pitcher Harry Bransington. Bransington looks like the better pick at least so far. This time, I picked pitcher Marrero over 2B Edgar Thomas, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Thomas will end up be...
