The Week That Was Off Season Special 2056.

The Majors. Athens Fighting Centaurs 73-89, .451 PCT, 17 GB In 2054 the Centaurs welcomed GM Thomas back into the Athens family, the previous year they'd finished 88-74 and the seeds of a charge for the GBC Championship in 54 were sowed. Least that's what it seemed like, that was until the 54 season...

Re: The Week That Was #2

The GBC off season looks like it will be exciting for a bunch of teams. The GBC is getting tough, I've been lucky enough to be in most situations within the league. Starting fresh with an expansion team in the UMEBA, moving to the BBA and improving the Stars each season and now back with Athens and...

The Week That Was #3 2056

It was a damp squib of a finish to the season, they may have finished with a 7-4 win on the final day of the regular season against the Sao Paulo Pilots on the road but that win just papered over the cracks of the final week and the season. The win followed 10 defeats in a row, the injurie could be ...

The Week That Was #2

Changes are a coming, if rumours are true the Athens Fighting Centaurs will be a different beast next season and for seasons to come. GM Neil Thomas, Manager Sheldon Cooper and Bench Coach Reece MacMinn have met on numerous occasions to work out how the Fighting Centaurs got from a 99 win season to...

Injuries were rough this season.
I accept injuries the game would be boring without them but 3 in a game week, long term injuries seem to be more frequent as well.

The Week That Was #1

The season couldn't end sooner for the Athens Fighting Centaurs, loss of form by many who took the Centaurs to a 99 win season just a year ago have taken a team to a sub .500 season barring a miracle that is. One thing that as cost them is injuries, last season the injury Gods smiled upon the Athens...

Re: Quinn Greene.

Great article Boyd! My nephew says thank you. Can’t wait to see him in the BBA! Hope not but be a day I can't justify that salary, know it's not much difference but he asked for $21m I wouldn't have paid that. Caleca I finished 3rd once, I should have mentioned you and added a link to your GM caree...

Quinn Greene.

One of the best things about a writing league is bringing the players to life, giving them a story. Whilst I've wanted to do some writing my mind just asn't been in the right place, whenever I've started an article I get a few lines into it then trail of and don't get past a paragraph. So my nephew ...

@Clayman - do you have some suggestions to start?
Hadn't thought that far, thought it a long shot anyway. It was looking at stuff for an article and seeing the Great Glove Award, thought surely we could do better even if it's not a player, just short term before player names appear.

GBC Awards.

I know the UMEBA/GBC is fairly new to the BBA universe but isn't it getting to the time that the various awards were given names that meant something to the league rather than OOTP generic names.

Re: Hellas Hotstove 2052.

Athens plunged into free agency quickly with the signings of Marian Muntean , Zander Fikias , Won-ho Park and Fawwaz Amin . Although all four were signed to minor league contracts it's thought all four will start in the active roster, it's thought the move to sign them to minor league contracts was ...

Re: Hellas Hotstove 2052.

Rumours are abound that Tsuyoshi Kobayashi is unlikely to return to the Centaurs ball club, Kobayashi is reported to be demanding Tokimasa Yano type numbers to sign a contract extension, something Athens aren't prepared to offer the Japanese infielder.

The Blue & White 2052 #1

Today Niko Papadakis, owner of the  Athens Fighting Centaurs , announced the sale of his team to Kalevi Karpinen. Karpinen is said to be an unmerciful character, with a fiscal personality of a penny pincher. The entire Athens organisation by all accounts were kept in the dark about the sale of the b...

Line Up Set For 52?

It looks like the pitching will have a different look next season but the line up will probably have much the same look as this season, only 2B Aaron Comyn was promoted from the minors. It's also thought Comyn could be a replacement for William Drew and/or Bob Allen both shortstops and both out of c...

Neil is on a rampage!
Not really my best but thought I'd best do something this season, the hotstove was meant to be a season long thing and will be for the 52 season. I have a couple more ideas which were meant for this season but just couldn't kick start my mojo this season.
