Nine J.J. McQuade Down and Out for Year: The season is finished for J.J. McQuade of the Yellow Springs Nine. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Nine third baseman suffered a severely strained hip muscle while running the bases in a recent game against the Valencia Stars. Team doctors said it would take at least 3 months to heal.

Batting .296 to date, McQuade has 11 home runs and 59 RBIs.

Jimmies Crowned Kings of the Johnson League Atlantic Division: For a team that has never won a Landis Memorial Series, capturing the Johnson League Atlantic Division is a good start.

That's the situation the Charm City Jimmies find themselves in as their division title today became official.

"We might not have a lot of championship experience as a franchise, but when push comes to shove, I believe in these guys," said first baseman Byron Hearle. "We want to be that team to bring the title home to Charm City."

Team manager Celes Palacios said it won't be easy to capture the Landis Memorial Series, but noted that "nothing worth doing ever is."

No Late-Season Magic Coming: Brooklyn Out of Playoffs: Brooklyn Robins first baseman Fernando Moreno said it is a "bitter disappointment" for he and his teammates to miss the playoffs. The remarks came hours after the club was mathematically eliminated from 2032 postseason contention.

This is the club's 5th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2027. In the last 10 seasons, the Robins have missed the playoffs 4 times. In total, the Robins have missed the playoffs 16 times in their 37-year history. Brooklyn last won the Landis Memorial Series in 2026.

Jacksonville Captures Wild Card: For the Jacksonville Hurricanes, it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's the mantra the team is following after today qualifying for the playoffs.

"We may be going into the playoffs as a wild card team, but we plan to finish the playoffs as champions," said third baseman David Noboru. "There's no shortage of confidence from guys in our clubhouse."

With a record of 83-77, there will of course be teams with better track records in the postseason. But team manager Lothar Platzdasch said his club has "infinite optimism" that they can win the franchise's 2nd Brewster Baseball Association championship.

Wolves Win Tight Frick League Heartland Division Race: Fans of the Madison Wolves are certainly optimistic regarding their team's chances to become Landis Memorial Series champions, after it became official that the club has won the Frick League Heartland Division.

"I think our fans think we're the best team in the league and you know what? Our guys think the same thing," said starting pitcher Enrique Gómez. "We've got a real good chance to take this title."

It would be the 3rd league championship for the club, which has won the Frick League Heartland Division for the 17th time.

Manager Millard Davis said he's spent many years in pro ball, but there's "just something special" about his current group of players.

"This team has got what it takes to be a champion," he said.

Twin Cities Devastated by Playoff Elimination: The Twin Cities River Monsters were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. Reese Rayner of the River Monsters said it's a tough way to finish out the season.

"To be eliminated from playoff contention in the last few games, it's not easy," he said.

The River Monsters are still searching for their first playoff appearance. The team has now missed qualifying for the postseason in each of their 3 seasons in the BBA.

Playoff Bound: Calgary Secures Wild Card: The 2032 playoffs will include the Calgary Pioneers.

With their record sitting at 87-73, the Pioneers have officially secured a spot in this year's postseason.

"Winning the Frick League Pacific Division is still the goal, of course. But this is the first step," said starting pitcher Cristóbal Hernández.

California Narrowly Wins Frick League Pacific Division: Let loose, California fans, your team has won the Frick League Pacific Division.

The California Crusaders have officially captured the crown, the 9th in franchise history.

"We've got a team that can do it all and we think do it just as well as anyone in the league," said starting pitcher Ricardo Díaz. "I hope no one is taking us lightly once the playoffs start."

Certainly the team's division crown will garner them a fair bit of respect, as the 95-66 record puts the club in position for the franchise's 3rd Brewster Baseball Association championship.

"You never get tired of being in the playoffs," said manager Ramón Rodríguez. "This is what you play for."

Ouch. Mcquade's injury is particularly bad after losing Jackson earlier.

I can confirm...

We are devastated.

lol... well, disappointed. It does suck coming up short like this.
